FROSTBORN: CO-OP SURVIVAL
Update 1.7
Jotunheim awaits!
With update 1.7 we open a path to the North! A whole new region with fresh content, challenges, and rewards is available to explore and conquer! Yet you have to do some preparation work to get there.

First of all, you will need a guide. She is ready to provide her service as soon as you build her house in New Heim at district level 53. After that, you are ready to leave for Jötunheim Gates and face new foes and pass the first trials of the harsh northern lands. Come prepared and follow the series of introductory quests to pass through the Gates and reach the Giant's Camp.

Friendly giants are your main allies on the other side of the northern wall. They fight against Kirga, a powerful witch sent by Hel herself to get north under control. Giants are old and mighty folk, but evil magic turned most of their kind into Hel's minions. So now giants are struggling to survive and ready to accept help from outsiders. And reward them accordingly!

You gain a reputation by completing daily tasks in Giant's Camp. Reputation points will unlock various gifts provided by the giant's leader. Among other rewards, you gain a level-cap increase (up to level 130!). Currently, only giants could provide such grants, so don’t hesitate to give them a hand. Also, you have a chance to acquire a new mount - northern armored wolf - at the Giant's Camp.

To complete tasks from giants you will need to head to the northern valley and wasteland - two new areas filled with new enemies, deadly traps and unique northern resources such as dragon tears and eternal ice. As for the standard resources - the north is especially rich with them. So it’s more profitable to gather them there! But beware of Cold! It increases thirst and hunger, and also increases damage from exhaustion.

What is even worse than a biting cold? The Hel's Breath, wicked magic that envelops locations from time to time. In addition to greatly increased thirst/hunger/exhaustion damage Hel's Breath also raises damage you take from enemy attacks. And Breath hits hard at the moment of activation, so be ready to leave a location before that!

You may soften these effects by drinking Draken Ale. Such Ale is essential to exploring the north more or less safely! You may acquire it as a reward from the giant's leader, exchange Ale for resources or you could make some using a Cooking pot at your home camp.

Cooking pot, Blacksmith's Workbench and Magic Workbench are three new craft-stations introduced along with the new northern areas. Note that both of the new workbenches also have additional upgrades! They are built separately and each one unlocks a specific recipe for crafting important resources such as leather strips, dragon scales, resin, oil, fish glue and more.

With this update, we add to the game a completely new set of impressive weapons of the north. Ice Axe, for example, will heal you by a certain percent of damage dealt. Ice Shield and Sword increase сlass spell recharge speed. Ice Crossbow has a chance to apply a fear effect on an enemy and his allies nearby.

And that's just a start! We plan to add more content and gameplay features regarding the north region in future updates.

That’s all for today, immortals! We look forward to your feedback on the Jotunheim update and wish you the best of luck in your conquest of the north! Lykke til!
