FROSTBORN: CO-OP SURVIVAL
Portal Prisons | Update 1.11
Army Camp, Fox and Boar, Witch Doctor and more!
Season 2 and update 1.11 are already in the game! Are you ready to help King Sigurd and his bodyguards in confronting Hel’s army?

King Sigurd is asking for your help! For a long time his squad has been holding back the onslaught of the dead in the West. But now the king cannot continue the resistance without the immortals - their arrival is eagerly awaited at the Army camp.

Recently the royal mages have come up with a cunning way to thin out the ranks of the dead and lure them into traps, transferring the captives to abandoned locations with no escape - the so-called portal prisons. Once the dead get in there, they can no longer get out. The only disadvantage of the plan is that the prisons quickly get overcrowded - and that’s where the combat skills of the immortals will come in handy!

To get into portal prisons use the magic portal at the Army camp. Inside, you’ll have to complete some specific tasks, and when you’re done, kill the boss and destroy the Return Stone at the end of the location to open a portal leading back to the Army camp. Mind that clear-outs of portal prisons are time-limited, but if successfully completed, your rating will grow, or go down in case of failure.

The Warchief at the Army camp keeps track of your rating and issues rewards, which can be of two types - one-time and weekly rewards (the latest can be received every week). As your rating rises, the difficulty of the portal prisons grows as well.

Another factor impacting the difficulty level of portal prisons is the number of players in your squad: the more people there are in it (up to four), the more health your enemies have and the more damage they deal. Before heading to the portal, mind the modifiers for these parameters, as well as the recommended battle rating. If you die in a portal prison, you will not be able to go back!

The Army Camp also serves as an activity hub in the new season. Every day King Sigurd, the Steward, and the Scout issue new tasks to the immortals, the completion of which is rewarded with Season Points. The main feature of these daily tasks is that uncompleted assignments don’t get lost but carried over to the next day and remain available for completion up until the end of the season. Due to this, you can play at a more comfortable pace.

Apart from carrying out the assignments of the King and his attendants, Season Points can also be earned through completing portal prisons. Speak to the well-known Warchief to take your just rewards.

The ultimate exclusive reward of the season is access to Witch-Doctor - a new class using flasks as a brand-new type of weapon. These small containers with tricky mixtures can be thrown at foes. Flasks can have cursing, poisonous, igniting, slowing down with cold, and other effects, which can be applied to the same target multiple times.

Witch-Doctor's passive skill is damage absorption. While attacking with flasks, the character applies an absorption effect to themselves. This effect can stack up to several times increasing the percentage of damage absorbed.

The Cure spell, in turn, removes the applied effect of damage absorption and converts it into an instant healing effect, restoring Witch-Doctor’s health or the health of their allies nearby. The more effects are applied to Witch-Doctor at the moment of casting the spell, the more effective is healing.

The new character can also summon a magic sphere that deals damage to enemies and heals allies. After a while, the sphere explodes, stunning enemies and removing the knockdown effect from wounded allies.

Mind that in patch 1.11 you can unlock Witch-Doctor only via season rewards. But if you don’t have time to complete the season on time, don’t be upset. In the next update you will be able to unlock the new class in the traditional way - by completing tasks in the class window.

Another addition in the update is new mounts - Armored Boar and Ice Fox. The boar's skill allows the player to stun opponents, while the fox’s one makes its rider not trackable on the minimap but able to temporarily become completely invisible. On top of that, invisibility activates for a few seconds as the player dismounts from the fox.

There is some great news for the clans too! From now on, the clan tournament includes two ratings - global and server rating. Active clans can compete for prizes in both of them. Since it is much more difficult to snatch victory in the global rating, the prizes there are significantly more valuable.

The game has also been added with a set of Dragon armor. You can find it among season rewards and in the Leader's Chest at the Clan Camp. What makes this set special is its universality, which means it suits all classes. The set pieces provide bonus effects to health and damage dealt, making the Dragon armor a solid all-around equipment. Hopefully, you’ll find it useful.

The changes in update 1.11 have touched the in-game store selection as well. Some of the positions have been removed and the content of some packs has been recompiled (check the Gadget Pack, for example). Of course, lucrative one-time promos and sales will continue to appear in the store as they did before - just don’t forget to check for new offers weekly.

Well now, immortals, king Sigurd is waiting for you at the Army Camp, so we won’t take any more of your time. Set off for new challenges and rewards, and may Odin be with you!
